The amalgam is a material that comes from the alloy of mercury with other metals. Its most common use is within dentistry, where it is used to fill the gaps left by cavities.
The joining of cotton threads through knots, where sometimes these threads break, but are reconnected through a knot, leaving the trace of the thread’s rupture. It continues, breaks again, and is knotted again. There are gaps and protrusions, which evidence the difficulty of passing through. Amalgamated weaving that shows that strength lies in the union of opposites.
